House that Greeks Built
The House That Greeks Built is a philanthropic project to benefit the Lawrence chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The average cost of building a house is $50,000 which includes everything from purchasing the lot to applying the last coat of paint. Students work together to raise money and provide the labor to build the house. In October 2003, the greek community completed its third House that Greeks Build home and is currently fundraising for their fourth house.
Panhellenic and IFC and working to fundraise in several ways for the House That Greeks Built. In the fall semester, an auction was held on Homecoming with all of the proceeds going to the philanthropy. In the spring, t-shirts are sold in the Kansas Union Bookstore.
